Hello teachers! My name is Leung Chun Hin TJ. I am studying at St. Patrick’s School, and today I will share a book with you.
It is called Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbitt. This book is written in a fairy tale style. The story is about a ten-year-old girl named Winnie Foster. She feels bored and trapped at home, so one day she ventures into the woods near her house. There, she discovers a secret spring and accidentally meets the extraordinary Tuck family.
The Tucks are very kind, but they have a big secret: they drank from the magic spring a long time ago, and now they will never grow old or die—they live forever. They explain to Winnie the good things and also the sad things about living forever, like watching everyone you love grow old and leave you. They open Winnie’s eyes to deep truths about love, humanity, happiness, and what it really means to live a full life, even if it’s not forever.
My favourite character is Winnie. Her character development is very good. At the beginning, she is shy and unsure of herself, but by the end, she becomes very brave and makes an important choice that shows her growth.
I strongly recommend this book for you. It makes you think about life in a new way.
Thank you for listening!
